Certify instead of complicate
Anyone who wants to be certified will be certified. Anyone who does not want to be certified will also be certified once we become aware of them. Our certificates document that something exists and that we learned about it. Nothing more is evaluated. Nothing more is required.
BSfrS Certification
What we certify
BSfrS certifies without thematic restrictions. A selection:
Digital
Websites, apps, APIs, databases, database migrations still running, repositories with exactly one commit, README files containing only "TODO", deployments no one can roll back, Slack workspaces where the free plan already hid the message history, login forms without password reset, cookie banners where all options look identical.
Processes
Onboarding processes no one has completed, offboarding processes created ad hoc, approval workflows with unknown approvers, escalation processes escalating themselves, quality assurance introduced after go-live, meeting cultures, feedback loops without defined recipients, retrospectives whose outcomes have no traceable relation to the next sprint.
Documents
Specifications, requirement sheets, documents that should be both, presentations with more than 60 slides, presentations with fewer than 3 slides that still took too long, Word files with change tracking that no one can disable, Confluence pages whose last editor already left the company, emails attached to emails attached to emails.
People
Project managers, product owners, scrum masters who are secretly project managers, stakeholders appearing only at acceptance, consultants, junior consultants doing the work, senior consultants writing the invoice, feelgood managers, anyone who called themselves a "visionary", people listed in more than seven active projects, and people listed in none but still attending all meetings.
Miscellaneous
Meeting rooms, coffee machines, printers that only one person can operate and that person is on vacation next week, certificates from other certifiers, certification processes, expired certificates, and on explicit request: certification itself.
Our certificates
BSfrS grants three certification levels. Classification follows an internal procedure that is documented but not publicly accessible.
Fully Method-Conform
The highest BSfrS certificate. It confirms that the certified object, person, or process complies with rautavistic method standards in all essential points. The exact scope of these standards is part of an internal paper currently under revision.
This certificate is granted when no contrary findings exist. Since we do not perform inspections, contrary findings usually do not exist.
Partially Method-Conform
The middle BSfrS certificate. It confirms that the certified object meets requirements in some parts and not in others, without recording which parts are which. This is the most common certification level and is considered a realistic reflection of project practice.
This certificate is considered particularly honest.
Hardly Method-Conform
The third BSfrS certificate. It confirms that the certified object exists. Further statements are not possible based on available information. This certificate is not considered negative, because evaluation would require a foundation that is currently unavailable.
Several internal projects carry this certificate. We consider this proof of methodological consistency.
How certification works
Get in touch. Tell us what should be certified. You receive confirmation that your request has been received. At a later point, you receive your certificate. The exact point in time is undefined, which we consider a flexibility feature.
Rejection is not intended. This does not evaluate the quality of your submission, but rather reflects the general attitude of our certification office.
All certificates remain valid until revoked. Revocation has not occurred so far because we have not documented that process yet.
